Businessmen from DR and Haiti trace a bi-national plan
SANTO DOMINGO. Business sectors of the country and Haiti presented yesterday a development plan for both nations that includes a working agreement from the export sector that will take advantage of the cooperation of the ACP nations.
The joint strategic plan implies the implementation of the Agreement of Economic Association between the Cariforo States, the European Community and the members of the EPA and was launched within the framework of the Hispaniola Macadamia Project.
Osmar Benitez, the executive vice-president of the Dominican Agro-Business Board (JAD), said that the country cannot live with its back to the development and commerce with Haiti. He argued that for the bi-national programs there are resources for more than 20,000,000 from the European Community, resources that in his opinion should not be distained by the two countries.
Meanwhile, Richard Koenig, from Adoexpo, said that the plans have the backing and support of the two governments.
